One glance in his direction and you can tell that Cedric is the perfect summer Oxford. The woven leather upper on these pointed-toe lace-ups aren’t just a unique feature – they make for a more breathable shoe, ideal for warm weather. This shoe loses its intimidating qualities if you simply think of it as a standard Oxford that just adds a little something extra to your ensemble. The classic silhouette, sharply pointed toe and standard colors are supplemented with texture that makes this shoe one of a kind. And in case you’re worried about comfort with the weave texture, this shoe, like all Marc Nolan shoes, features full leather lining as well as padded insole.
Cedric in cognac features burnished detailing that results in an array of brown hues to coordinate well with numerous closet options. We opted for a casual look with white jeans and, since Millennial Pink is still going strong, a button-up in the trendy hue. Keep it sleek with accessories like a silver watch and belt in a muted color with a silver buckle, while playing with fun socks in a multicolored stripe. Cedric complements virtually any wash of denim and while solid colors would pull the attention to your feet, a short-sleeved button-up in a light floral would be more fashion-toward.
Create a more formal outfit by pairing Cedric with a deconstructed suit in a solid or pinstripe; the unlined jacket is a summertime must-have to find refuge from the heat while still looking sharp. Pair with linen pants, a classic button-up and bright blazer for a business casual look.
Cedric in black is a bit less obvious, but no less statement-making. We kept it simple with a pair of mid-wash jeans, a crew neck t-shirt and no socks. This style would pair well with denim of all shades, including black and white, and the black color wears just as versatile as any pair of black lace-up shoes, meaning your shirting options are nearly endless. Simple button-ups in myriad colors are always a good bet, but plaids and checks, like a black and white gingham pattern, would look fantastic as well.
Cedric adds a dose of cool to any workday outfit too. Any way you wear your standard black dress shoes, Cedric is an easy swap to add interest to standard work wear. Pair with colorful chinos and a lightweight blazer in black, grey or navy for the steamier months ahead.
Simple enough to complement statement-making outfits and attention-grabbing enough to be the heavy hitter in a minimalist ensemble – Cedric is your guy who can do both.
