Our Top Five Fall Men's Shoe Essentials
Labor Day has come and gone, cool fronts have started rolling in, and football season has begun. But these events signal something much more important: fall fashions are finally here. The new collections are exciting but can often be overwhelming, so to help make seasonal shopping easier, we’ve managed to pare down the 50 men’s shoe styles from the new Marc Nolan lineup to just five must-haves.
We crowned these particular five our fall shoe essentials because each style is extremely versatile and can easily be dressed up or down; they transition seamlessly into fall weather and carry through winter and beyond; and they cater to a variety of tastes and wardrobes. Not to mention that this season, we’ve improved our product quality with the use of calfskin leather and sheepskin suede in the construction of our men’s shoe collection. Materials like Italian merino wool and sheep fur in several styles make sure you’ll stay extra warm this season, and full calfskin leather lining and the implementation of latex memory foam padded insoles make them our most comfortable men’s shoes yet. So, let’s dive in.
The Chelsea Boot
A pair of suede Chelsea boots is an absolute wardrobe necessity, and the Alfie Black Suede Chelsea Boots are the perfect upgrade from your everyday black boots. With plush sheepskin suede and prominent stitching along the sturdy traction sole, high quality construction takes center stage. The unexpected pops of color with the fire engine red elastic inserts and fabric pull-tabs add something special to the standard silhouette. Don’t let the red intimidate you, though – there are plenty of perfect color combinations likely already waiting in your wardrobe. Wear Alfie with your favorite charcoal suit and a red paisley tie for a cool work look. Then pair Alfie with mid-wash denim, a white t-shirt, and a bomber jacket for afterhours.
The Dress Shoe Sneaker
Our bestselling style, the Jasper Cognac Wingtip Sneakers, gets a fall-ready upgrade with his cousin Gavin. This burgundy hue proves just as versatile as any black or brown lace-up, while Gavin’s full brogue wingtip detailing is met with a chic navy blue, white, and black athletic sole to transition seamlessly from work to play. Gavin’s possibilities are endless. He’s the perfect shoe to pair with grey slacks and a plaid blazer for 9-to-5, throw on with a pair of joggers to run errands, wear with jeans and a track jacket to grab drinks, rock with a classic black suit to tear up the dance floor at upcoming fall weddings… The list goes on.
The Wool Derby Shoe
With winter-ready materials like calfskin leather and Italian merino wool plus a versatile black and charcoal grey color combination, the Gunner Black Wool Derby Shoes might be the only shoes you want to wear this season. A shock-absorbing EVA rubber sole makes Gunner an ideal walking shoe and the black color means it won’t get ruined after just one commute. Create a cool casual look by pairing Gunner with any shade of denim and a simple crewneck sweater layered over a plaid button-up. Make Gunner work-ready with a burgundy suit, a white Oxford shirt and navy blue accessories.
The Belmont Mahogany Wingtip Combat Boots are sure to get you plenty of double takes while you stand out in a sea of black lace-up boots this season. A chic range of brown shades throughout the calfskin leather and sheepskin suede upper gives plenty of room to play with color combinations while full calfskin lining and a memory foam insole ensure you’ll be comfortable no matter what else you wear. Create a fashion-forward work look by wearing Belmont with a navy suit and a cream turtleneck, and look equally as cool off-duty by pairing him with cuffed jeans and a plum cashmere sweater.
The Timeless Brown Boot
With a warm hue that coordinates handsomely with just about everything in your closet, the Phoenix Amber Lace-Up Boots are the fall go-to your wardrobe has been missing. With full-grain leather, full leather lining, a traction sole, and memory foam insole, Phoenix will be a staple long after the season changes too. Dress Phoenix up with checkered or windowpane suiting, then dress him down with distressed denim and a burnt orange sweater.
